WHEREAS, according to the current state charter our corporate citizens must only take into account the effects of their actions on their shareholders bottom line and

WHEREAS, many corporate actions have great impact on the communities in which they are located and on the people they employ and

WHEREAS, our corporate citizens should enjoy the same freedom to make decisions based on a broad range of factors without fear of lawsuits from shareholders, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED that the [party] supports legislation, which qualifies the chartered mission of a corporation, to make money for shareholders "but not at the expense of the environment, human rights, the public health or safety, the communities in which the corporation operates, or the dignity of its employees."
